Your First Visit
Everyone at Effingham Smiles is dedicated to providing you with the very best service and we take pride in our training and capabilities to offer you comprehensive dental care. During your first visit with us, your dentist will meet with you personally to talk about your goals for your smile. If you have any concerns about dental treatment or your oral health, we invite you to share them with us.
When you come to our office for your first visit, we do ask that you arrive 10-15 minutes early for your appointment. This gives us the opportunity to review any dental insurance information you may have, and to introduce you to our facility and team. We encourage you to ask questions about your care or let us know how we’re doing. Following your visit, we will send you a brief survey for your feedback to help us keep doing a good job for you and your family.
Dentistry for Children
If this is your child's first trip to the dentist, we will pace our approach based on their interest and comfort level. We want your child to look forward to seeing us again, so we will begin by creating a trusting relationship with them. We might just go for a ride in the dental chair and get a prize, or, "count" and brush their teeth to make them shiny clean.
At your child's regular visits with us, we will examine their teeth to look for signs of decay and to encourage them and teach them about good brushing habits and healthy eating. We may recommend dental sealants to help prevent cavities.
Dentistry for Adults
Did you know that the majority of adult tooth loss is caused by periodontal (gum) disease? As we mature, it is important to maintain a regular routine of dental examinations and hygiene visits to help prevent this destructive disease. While previous generations expected to lose their teeth as part of aging, today is it “normal” to keep a set of functioning teeth for a lifetime. And, the benefits to personal health and quality of life are beyond measure!
Consultation & Treatment Planning
During your regular visits for dental cleanings and oral health maintenance, your dentist will meet with you to review their findings and any concerns they may have. If treatment is recommended, we will review all options with you to arrive at a plan that works best for you. We will also ask about your goals for your smile appearance and show you examples of cosmetic dentistry treatments to enhance your smile.
Our friendly team members want to help you and your family have healthy smiles for a lifetime! We have a number of financial options available and will assist you in researching any dental insurance coverage you may have.
